An expansion/renovation improves efficiencies, trims operational costs, and creates a healthier workplace at Wilmette Public Works. The facility is one of the first public works buildings in the nation to achieve LEED Gold certification. A glass curtain wall brings plenty of daylight into the office addition, and a new, light-filled wash bay fits four vehicles and recycles rinse water. White reflective roofs use up to 40% less cooling energy than standard roofs, while landscaping and the wash bay cut water consumption by 40%.
